Josh Oldenburg pig for sale!

Arthur Curtis sent me this via surfapig@live.comHey Mike Black, I have this near new Josh Oldenburg Pig for sale.  It surfs really great but I need to let it go.  60's chip outline with a glassed in Russ Pope fin.  No leash plug of any kind to keep it as classic as possible.  Double 8oz Volan, top and bottom, with and inch and a half balsa stringer.  Im asking 700 for it which I think is pretty fair.  Can you help me sell it?  I am located in SD and will deliver as far as San O. Thanks Mike, Arthur Curtis

i shot the picture below of my beloved sliders point, bing feral pig, and my ZAP wetsuit.

david sent me this via surfapig@live.comHey Mike~I'm friends with Jason Arnold and was wondering if it'd be ok for me to paint a version of this shot(attached)? I'm a working artist up in San Francisco but born and raised in San Juan Capo where I still visit with my wife for work, family and of course surfing. I actually went to the first surf trip with Jason and I think he met with you about Illustrating a children's book? I missed last years trip but my wife and I are going to try and make up for it this year.Anyway, you can check out my stuff at and there's some San O beach related work in the Suburban section- still need to update with a few more new ones.Let me know if you're ok with me painting from this- if not no problemo. Hope all is well. ~Dave

JC sent me the following via surfapig@live.comHi Mike, How’s it going?  I wanted to send some photos of the Gordie pig that I am finally getting to work on.  I am just about finished repairing dings, replacing old foam with new and filling other minor snaggles, then sanding for a new, two-tone opaque-resin color coat (stringers and logo taped off of course)  and gloss coat.  This board is super solid and straight except for the old dings.  It has zero delam issues. I was able to get Gordies beautiful black walnut and teak fin off of the board and out of the glass very cleanly and restore it to pretty much new condition.  I will glass it and reinstall it with the original 1” clear bead.  It will be a stunning restoration of a truly classic board of that era. Then………I am getting ready to do a 9-7 reproduction of the board in balsa and redwood.  I have some superb, ultra-light balsa set aside for the project.  I plan on taking then both to this year’s “Boardroom” at Del Mar as a tribute to Gordie, along with a couple other new wood boards. I figured you might be interested in seeing what I have going on. Aloha Bro,JC

he figured right!!! so INSANE!!!
