bit of an S deck on it. to say I am ULTRA STOKED to get this thing out in some body wompers in an UNDERSTATEMENT!!

well, then there is this. Jim the Genius made this for me. I didn't order it, my wife did...with out telling me. god i love that woman! the one board i would never order but would always want.

scored a few clean ones this a.m. at sliders on it. earned the name "pelican's magic carpet".

SERIOUSLY?...SERIOUSLY!!!!!!

we drew a ship on the chalk board in the garage.

nice!!

oso is oh so awesome!!

saw this when we were buying produce at whole foods. have to love fractals in nature!

and so was this... you see , this isn't the type of aesthetic i would think of for a pig...however, after spending days drooling over it...the conclusion is drawn. perfection.

Tim sent me this via surfapig@live.com: Hi Mike. Tim from old jersey here. I've just got back with my friend Adrian from a drive to the south of France to meet up with the Bing crew on their European tour. Lots of good food , wine , cognac and a great bunch of guy's and gal's. The surf wasn't too good but I did get a few waves on my pig on Sunday morning at Montalivet when the wind dropped off for a few hours. After I got out I took it to Philippe Rodes' , Spyder Surf Shop ( http://www.surf-longboard.com/index.html ) and Bing and the guys kindly signed it for me. It was really nice to meet up with Matt , Margaret and Chris again and a real honour to meet and chat with Bing . I've gotta mention that Tom Moss was with them taking the photo's and sharing his vast knowledge on vintage Bings. A weekend I will never forget . Good luck with your new project. Aloha.Tim Wilson

nice old bing pig.

when this board was made it was called a "surfboard" or a "stock" or something like that. these nicely preserved boards make me want to ride them. very badly.

bing sent me the pix and said this about the board:
"...turns out it was one that I shaped for a friend of Velzy and mine back in 1963."

i'd call that beauty a pig. i bet when it was made it was just called a surfboard though. after some questioning ..."She's 9'6 and other then that i know nothing. Tom at classic bing figures it was shaped in 63 as stock for their dealer in Hawaii and because of that it has slightly more rocker and the tail is a little more pulled in. The fin has been replaced, but it was a replacement bing fin that was put on it."...GOT DAM!!! NICE!!!!
